Aspiring parliamentary candidate Mr Lackson Zuza has successfully filed his nomination papers at the United Party for National Development (UPND) secretariat, seeking adoption to contest the Kalomo Central Constituency seat in the 2026 general elections.
Mr. Zuza, who describes himself as the only youthful aspirant in Kalomo District, said his bid represents a new wave of leadership aimed at addressing development challenges and improving service delivery in the area.

Speaking after filing in for adoption, Zuza thanked President Hakainde Hichilema for the creation of Kalomo Central Constituency through the delimitation process, which he said has enhanced representation for local communities.
Zaza said the constituency comprises Mwata, Chilesha, Choonga, Chifusa, Bbilili, Naluja, Kalonda and Siachitema wards.

Zuza pledged to prioritise infrastructure development, particularly the rehabilitation of township and feeder roads, which he described as being in a deplorable state.
Zaza cited Mwata Ward as one of the worst affected, where roads have become impassable, making it difficult for residents to access essential services.

Zuza emphasised the need for prudent utilisation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), with a focus on youth empowerment and community development.
Zaza expressed confidence in securing adoption under the UPND ticket, stating that his campaign is anchored on inclusive development and responsive leadership for the people of Kalomo Central.
