The IK Charitable Trust has delivered a significant donation of life-saving medical equipment and essential supplies to Chilenje Level 1 Hospital to address urgent respiratory needs and patient care requirements.
Handed over by Operations & Projects Manager Dr. Muhammad Bailal Mansuri, the donation includes a 10-liter oxygen concentrator and 24 fingertip pulse oximeters, specifically selected to help nursing staff monitor patient oxygen levels more accurately.
Mr. Muhammed Lambat is an Administrative/Programnes Manager), Mohamed Shuaib Khanat serving as Trust Secretary and I K Charitable Trust Needs Assessment and Programmes Manager is Professor Richard Kasopa Anastazio Miti.
This intervention arrives as a vital relief for the hospital, which has faced rising costs and increased demand for oxygen therapy among its current patient population.
Representing the District Health Director, Dr. Astridah Maleka, Senior Planner Ruth Zulu expressed deep gratitude for the partnership, noting that the contribution directly enhances the facility’s patient monitoring systems and maternity ward.

In addition to the specialized medical machinery, the Trust provided five wheelchairs to improve patient mobility, 50 sets of bed linen, and high-grade hygiene supplies to maintain clinical standards. To support physical recovery through nutrition, the team also distributed 120 food hampers designed to provide essential vitamins and energy to those currently under hospital care.
During the ceremony, representatives from the IK Charitable Trust emphasized that their work, which began in 2016, is driven by a mission to uphold the basic human right to health and dignity in collaboration with the Zambian government.
The Trust framed the act of giving as a spiritual and social investment in the well-being of the community, citing the importance of supporting the sick through tangible tools for healing. Dr. Mansuri and the management team highlighted that the donation aims to serve as a “silent watch” over the respiratory health of the most vulnerable, ensuring that no patient is restricted by physical or resource limitations during their journey back to health.

The IK Charitable Trust initiative continues uplifting identified vulnerable communities through the donation of mobility support equipment and essential food items.
A delightful Kaliko commended IK Charitable Trust for ameliorating and improving the welfare of vulnerable citizens country wide.
Fearing donor fatigue, Kaliko implored IK Trust to sustain and expand its noble efforts, urging them to extend similar support to other vulnerable communities in need across different areas.
The event highlighted the importance of partnerships between community leaders and charitable organizations in addressing social challenges and promoting inclusive development.
On Wednesday 16th April 2026, IK Charitable Trust healthcare philanthropy reached Chilenje First Level Hospital in the form of 10L Oxygen Concentrator + 24 Pulse Oximeters, five (5) Wheelchairs for patient mobility, fifty (50) Bedsheets & bulk hygiene supplies and one-hundred and twenty (120) nutrition hampers for admitted patients and care givers.
