During a Sunday, 10th May, 2026 service, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Lusaka Stake president Chris Chansa invested Elvis Siwila as New Libala Ward Bishop, taking over Bishop Michael Simbeya who has served since 2022.
Bishop Siwila’s first councilor is Tyler Jacob Dewaal and Anthony Mulenga as second councilor respectively.

Bishop Siwila says the vision of the new administration is to split Libala Ward into two wards as it was 5 years ago and create other 3 stakes in the space of the next 5 years.
“This Church worships the Almighty God in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, we can achieve this together as a Church and community around us since the Church helps create leaders of Zambia using our strict principles,” Bishop Siwila explained.

Bishop Siwila, a businessperson and graduate of business administration said his wife Mwila Kunda is one of pillars in the Church keenly encouraging him to advance God name and good tidings.
Bishop Siwila admires the out going Bishop Simbeya’s unique leadership style and is excited and ready to serve and overcome challenges building on his predecessor.
Lusaka Stake Bishop President Chris Chansa thanked Bishop Siwila for accepting the calling and told congregants and the community to support the new leader’s vision.
