United Party for National Development (UPND) National Chairperson for Defense and Security Churchill Malama has asked the people of Chainda Compound to give President Hakainde Hichilema maximum votes in the August 13th General Elections.

And Mr. Malama, an aspiring candidate for Munali Constituency, has promised that he will not abandon the people once voted into office.

Addressing residents of Chainda Compound, Malama said President Hichilema deserves another term of office.

“When you put your votes on President Hakainde Hichilema and his running mate, our lives will be fine because we are going to be in power. If we fail to vote for President Hichilema, we are going to suffer. I am telling you,” Malama emphasized.

Malama said he will never betray the trust of the people of Munali once they vote for him. He said he had always been with the people of Munali and fully understands the challenges they go through.

Malama added that he will not be selective but will embrace every resident of Munali and respond to their problems accordingly.

“…He (Mike Mposha, incumbent Munali lawmaker) only helped the people he came with from MMD and PF. He abandoned you because you did not matter to him. He moved with his own people but I am UPND and I have always been with you,” he said. “If you come from Chainda, you are my sister, you are my brother, you are my mother and you are my father.”

Malama said while there was a narrative that politicians were liars, he was different because he believes in God owing to the pain he had passed through.

Malama said he had used his position in the UPND to help a number of youths acquire jobs but was disappointed with some young people who turned down the employment offers.

Unlike the incumbent Munali Member of Parliament Mike Mposha who decided to run for the Malambo seat, Malama said he remains committed to Munali.

Meanwhile, Malama said he will not bribe anyone to seek a mandate in parliament.

“If I give you money to get your support, it will be difficult for me to help you when I become MP because I will say, I already paid you,” Malama said.
