In a breathtaking display of leadership that transcends traditional politics, Lusaka Central aspiring Member of Parliament Msaiwale Mlewa has fundamentally reshaped the future for hundreds of children at Tru Stars Academy. On the 32nd day of his ambitious “40 Projects in 40 Days” initiative, Mlewa unveiled a comprehensive overhaul of the community school, delivering a brand-new ablution block, restored water connectivity, and fully renovated classrooms.
This isn’t just a construction project; it is a life-altering intervention for a community that had long been overlooked, proving that Mlewa’s campaign is built on the sturdy bricks of progress rather than the fleeting promises of political slogans.
The emotional weight of this transformation was captured vividly by Natalie Mwale, the founder of True Stars Preparatory School, who revealed the dire conditions pupils faced before Mlewa stepped in. For years, over 200 students were forced to share just two dilapidated toilets, a crisis that threatened both health and dignity.
Today, thanks to Mlewa’s intervention and his ability to leverage social capital through partners like the Buzz Community Club, the school has become a beacon of hope. The impact was immediate and measurable: as the facility became habitable and safe, enrollment surged to 321 pupils.

Ms Mwale’s gratitude underscored a profound reality—this project has breathed new life into a sanctuary that now serves not only children but also women’s groups and local youth, cementing its status as a cornerstone of community development.
For Msaiwale Mlewa, the success at Tru Stars Academy is a testament to a new era of “dedicated effort and vision” that Lusaka Central has been yearning for.
By rejecting the “mealie meal and chitenge” style of politics, Mlewa is demonstrating that true empowerment comes from observing a community’s pain and taking decisive, sustainable action.
As he enters the final stretch of his 40-day mission, Mlewa remains steadfast in his belief that community schools are the heartbeat of the nation.
His work at Tru Stars Academy stands as a powerful promise to the voters: with Msaiwale Mlewa, leadership is not about what is said on a podium, but what is built on the ground for the people.
