Speaking on Radio Mano in Kasama, Northern Province on Monday, 19th January 2026, Harriet Bwalya-Mulenga, People’s Pact women’s coordinator called on all well-meaning Zambians to join the People’s Pact Movement in order to secure meaningful change on Thursday , 13th August 2026.

Ms. Bwalya-Mulenga stated that the People’s Pact, as a broad people-driven movement, chose Dr. Fred M’membe as its presidential candidate, with the Socialist Party (SP) serving as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to deliver the people’s aspirations into government.

On the same programme, SP Central Committee member Everisto Nswima emphasized that the UPND must go in 2026, noting that after nearly five years in office the government has failed to adequately take care of the people.
Mr. Nswima highlighted that the Socialist Party is advancing people-centred policies, particularly in education, with a commitment to free and quality education for all Zambians.
Nswima added that Dr. M’membe believes in collective decision-making, stressing that national development cannot be achieved through individualism or elitism.

Meanwhile, Kapasa Kalulu urged voters to support Joseph Mubanga in the Thursday, 29th January 2026 by-election, citing his demonstrated leadership and impactful community programmes in the city.
