On Thursday, 7th April, 2022, the Australian-based Journalist and Beltz Mining Limited director, Ms. Beltz was installed by His Royal Highness, Chief Lukangaba, the Ministry of Local Governmentand Rural Development (MLGRD) as Queen Nkandu of Mansa.
“I am indebted and elated to His Royal Highness Chief Lukangaba, the Ministry of Local Governmentand Rural Development for entrusting me with the Title of Queen Nkandu Makili Beltz Mungusa, a title from my great grandmother, who was a great, kind, intelligent Queen herself. My deepest gratitude to our headman, Mr. Chunda himself, Mansa City Council, Members of the Public and my entire family. My heart is full and I love you all. May God continue to bless you. With love,” a delighted Queen NMB Mungusa had noted two years ago.
Here is her interview in detail: “I am Queen Nkandu Makili Beltz Mungusa, director for Beltz Mining Limited and Kapano Mineral Resources. Beltz Mining Limited is the mother company for Kopano Mineral Resources, which has two exploration licenses in Zambia.
One license is for the Mwekera project in the Ndola area, Copperbelt Province.
The other license is for The Luswishi concession in Solwezi, Northwestern province, covering 553 square kilometers.
The current state of copper mining in Zambia is lucrative and real, with tangible opportunities for growth. The demand for copper is increasing, and the price has hit an all-time high. Beltz Mining prioritizes sustainable mining practices and environmental stewardship.
We obtain necessary permits and follow international standards. Zambia is strict on environmental issues, and we ensure we do the right thing for the environment.
As a Zambian, I am committed to protecting my home. I was born in Ndola and did part of my early school in Solwezi. We use technological innovations like AI, XRF, and XRD to enhance efficiency and productivity.
We are exploring new technologies like 3D seismic and remote sensing. The global copper market is evolving fast, and Africa has opportunities to benefit. However, challenges like electricity supply’s and infrastructure need to be addressed. Zambia needs access to power to meet her three (3) million metric tonne ambitious copper production targets set by President Hakainde Hichilema.
To achieve this ambitious goal, infrastructure development, especially roads, is essential. Improved policy and investor certainty are vital for investments. Government policies pursued by President Hichilema show certainty and favorability. Investors should take advantage of Zambia’s favorable environment. Keeping money in the bank is expensive, and investor-friendly policies make it easier to spend. I will convey the message that Zambia is open for business at the Copper to the World conference.
Zambia has good revised policies and favorable investment opportunities.
The country’s copper mineral ore is mainly on the surface, making it lucrative for investors.
Zambia is a friendly country where investors can do business and repatriate their money.
It’s about creating a win-win scenario for investors and local people. Africa is well-endowed with minerals, and Zambia is a prime investment destination. I hope this message encourages investors to support the development of the copper industry in Africa”.
