It’s time again when Kunda people of Malambo in Mambwe District of Eastern Province celebrate their culture.

Mambwe District _ It is not only about celebrating culture, but also about showcasing the home of tourism, where the world-renowned South Luangwa National Park is located. The area is blessed with a rich natural heritage and is home to different species of animals, birds, trees and beautiful landscapes that attract visitors from different parts of Zambia and beyond. The region stands as a symbol of Zambia’s natural beauty and cultural pride.

The Kunda people are preparing for the much-anticipated Malaila Traditional Ceremony Fundraising Dinner Dance, an event that brings together traditional leaders, government officials, business communities and members of the public in support of preserving and promoting the rich Kunda heritage.

The fundraising dinner dance is expected to serve as an important platform for unity, cultural promotion and development initiatives aimed at strengthening and sustaining traditional activities in the area. Such events not only celebrate identity and customs but also contribute towards community development and tourism promotion.

The occasion will be graced by Her Honour the Vice President of Zambia, Madam W.K. Mutale Nalumango, who is expected to attend as Guest of Honour, highlighting the importance attached to the cultural and tourism significance of the region.

The event is scheduled to take place on 18th July 2026 at Chamber Valley ZAF Officers Mess from 18:00hrs to 22:00hrs.

Participants will have an opportunity to enjoy cultural entertainment and performances by MC Wabwino and the Air Power Band, creating an atmosphere of celebration, networking and appreciation of Zambia’s cultural diversity.

Different participation categories have been made available for those willing to support the event, including Ordinary, VIP, V.V.I.P and Corporate packages.
