Addressing guests, partners, members of the education sector, and fellow citizens, Ministry of Education (MoE) Director Teaching Education Services Sydney Nalube applauded AfricaWorks Agora Village for launching NzeluPlus Educational Services initiative.

From the outset, Mr. Nalube congratulated Ms. Suzen Kapya Katebe and her team on the innovative NzeluPlus Educational Services initiative.
Nalube restated Government, resolve encouraged solutions that arise from within local communities— directly addressing challenges in the education sector.
“Education remains a top priority for us as a nation. Through the implementation of free education, we have seen increased access to schooling, with more children now able to attend and remain in school. However, as access increases, it also brings new challenges—such as the need for personalized learning and additional academic support for learners with different abilities.

In every classroom, we recognize that learners are unique. Some require more time and attention, while others need to be challenged further to reach their full potential. Platforms like NzeluPlus present an opportunity to complement what is happening in our schools by extending learning beyond the classroom,” noted Nalube.

Nalube says particularly commendable about NzeluPlus is its dual impact; firstly, supporting learners by connecting them to qualified teachers within their communities for personalized learning—whether through physical or online sessions and secondly, creating opportunities for teachers.
“As you may be aware, many trained teachers are awaiting employment. Innovations such as this provide a platform for them to remain active, utilize their skills, and contribute meaningfully to society while awaiting formal employment.
We also appreciate that the platform emphasizes quality by ensuring that teachers are certified through the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ). This is important in maintaining standards within the profession.

As Government, we recognize the role that technology can play in transforming education. We therefore encourage more innovations that leverage technology to improve access, quality, and inclusivity in learning,” appreciated Nalube.

However, Nalube emphasized the importance of collaboration.
“For such initiatives to succeed, there must be strong partnerships between innovators, government institutions, financial partners, and communities. To the private sector and cooperating partners present today, we encourage you to continue supporting such initiatives. Investing in education is investing in the future of our country,” implored Nalube.
Addressing parents and learners, Nalube urged them to embrace platforms like NzeluPlus responsibly and make the most out of provided opportunities.
Turning to teachers, Nalube appreciated their dedication, thus encouraging ongoing role shaping Zambia’s future.
