LUSAKA, April 7, 2026 — A new chapter in Zambia’s education sector has begun with the official launch of NzeluPlus Educational Services at AfricaWorks Agora Village, marking a significant step toward addressing learning inequalities and teacher unemployment.

Speaking at the launch, founder Suzen Kapya Katebe, a teacher with over 10 years of experience in both government and private schools, described NzeluPlus as a solution born out of real classroom challenges.

Ms. Katebe highlighted persistent gap in classrooms where some learners struggle to keep up while others are not sufficiently challenged.

“With large class sizes and limited time, it becomes difficult for teachers to give every learner the attention they deserve,” Ms. Katebe said.

NzeluPlus is a mobile application designed to connect students with qualified teachers within their local communities for personalized learning.

The platform offers flexible options, including online and physical sessions, as well as one-on-one and group learning, catering to learners from early childhood to university level, including those requiring special education.

Beyond supporting learners, the platform also aims to address teacher unemployment by creating opportunities for qualified educators to earn income, remain active in their profession, and contribute meaningfully within their communities.

All teachers on the platform are verified and certified through the Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) to ensure quality and trust.

Ms. Katebe expressed gratitude to key partners who supported the journey, including Standard Chartered Bank through the Women in Tech Programme, which provided mentorship and exposure over the past four years.

Ms. Katebe commended the Government’s free education policy and ongoing teacher recruitment efforts, noting that NzeluPlus seeks to complement these initiatives by ensuring no learner is left behind.
