TAAT donates soybean seed

The Ministry of Agriculture, through the Zambia Agricultural Research Institute (ZARI) in partnership with Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT), has donated 2 tons of soybean seed and inoculant to the Crushers and Edible Oil Refineries Association in the Kambilombilo area of Lufwanyama District, Copperbelt Province.

Victoria Mbewe, a soybean breeder at ZARI, stated that the department is contributing toward meeting the Presidential directive of producing 1 million metric tonnes of soybeans by 2027 by donating basic seed to farmers and training them in best soybean production practices.
Mrs. Mbewe revealed that, so far, the department has trained farmers and distributed seed and inoculant in parts of Eastern, Central, and now Copperbelt Provinces. –NAIS
