World Tourism Organisation’s Zurab Pololikashvili marketing Zambia’s hospitality Investment

WORLD Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili is assuring Minister of Tourism Rodney Malindi Sikumba of a pledge to facilitate platforms enabling Zambia to market her key investment areas to drive its hospitality agenda for economic diversification and growth, leading to sustainable jobs and wealth creation.
The pronouncement was made when Mr. Sikumba, held high level bilateral talks with the UNWTO SG Pololikashvili on the side-lines of the 118th Executive Council currently underway in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
Mr. Pololikashvili reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to support Zambia in fostering tourism education that will bridge the human capital gap to enhance competitiveness in the region through the support its rendering towards the hosting of the Travel Hospitality and Tourism Education Summit scheduled for 22nd to 24th May ,2023.
“The Summit will be aimed at aligning learning to the industry needs with the view to reduce the gap and increase the link between the educators and the industry. The bilateral talks explored ways of enhancing tourism investment packages by broadening Zambia’s engagement with targeted investors at regional and international level.
The two parties have since agreed to collaborate and engage in broadening Zambia’s marketing platform in order to enhance Zambia’s tourism visibility in achieving its targeted 1.5 million visitors in 2023.
