Kasune cautions Ministry of Justice staff against accepting bribes or gifts from individuals

Minister of Justice, Princess Kasune has described 2025 as a busy and challenging year. She noted that while the Ministry recorded a number of achievements, worth celebrating.
In a Monday, 22nd December, 2025 Media Statement signed by Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Principal Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr. Joe Nkadaani, Ms. Kasune acknowledged the resilience and dedication of the Ministry’s staff, tirelessly ensuring that set objectives, goals, and mandate facilitating access to justice was accomplished.
“As we conclude the year, it is important to remind ourselves of our core attributes as we execute our duties in the coming year. We must remain dedicated to our work, complete assignments on time, and consistently deliver high-quality results for the benefit of the people of Zambia,” Ms. Kasune stated during a team building workshop for MoJ junior staff.
Serving as United Party for National Development (UPND) Keembe Member of Parliament (MP) in the Central Province, Ms. Kasune sought a trustworthy staff as the MoJ handles highly sensitive information; contracts, statutory instruments, bills, memorandum of understanding (MOUs), Cabinet memoranda, employee records, strategic plans, and client details, which must be protected at all times.
Ms. Kasune encouraged staff to carry out their duties professionally and in accordance with their individual and collective Terms and Conditions of Service.
Ms. Kasune also cautioned staff against accepting bribes or gifts from individuals or organizations, stressing that such actions compromise personal integrity.
Additionally, Ms. Kasune urged MoJ staff to refrain from engaging in partisan politics, noting that their role as government employees is to support the Government of the day regardless of political affiliation, religion, ethnicity, social, or cultural beliefs.
