_M4CE and People’s Pact Movement condemn UPND Government’s failure to address Zambia’s economic crisis_

On Saturday, 21st February, 2026, the Movement for Change (M4CE) and the PEOPLE’S PACT MOVEMENT issued a scathing condemnation of the UPND government’s failure to address Zambia’s deepening economic crisis, labeling it a betrayal of the trust placed in them by the Zambian people.
In a strongly-worded statement, Kaluba Musenda ‘Simuyemba Esq, President of M4CE and Vice President of PEOPLE’S PACT MOVEMENT, accused the government of prioritizing foreign interests over the welfare of Zambian citizens, exacerbating poverty and inequality.
“The UPND government’s rhetoric of self-praise and unrealistic statistics is a shameful attempt to distract from their abject failure to deliver on their promises,” said Musenda. “The people of Zambia deserve better than this engineered media optics and deceit. It’s time for a new direction.”
The statement highlights the pervasive socio-economic stress, desperation, and hopelessness among Zambian youths, and warns that the government’s failure to act will have severe consequences for the nation’s future.
M4CE and PEOPLE’S PACT MOVEMENT reiterate their call for a Government of National Unity (GNU) to address Zambia’s challenges through inclusive leadership and socio-economic participation.
“We will not continue to be led by ignorant and arrogant individuals who don’t have the suffering of the Zambian people at heart,” said Musenda. “It’s time for Zambians to take control of their destiny and build a brighter future.”
