“I have just come across a very malicious statement being circulated by Ms. Lillian Mutambo,” protests DPP President Antonio Mourinho Mwanza

I categorically reject the false, malicious, and defamatory allegations being circulated in my name.
I have absolutely nothing to do with these claims. I am not a member of the Forum for Democracy and Development (FDD), and it is both illogical and misleading to suggest that I would be involved in the affairs of a party to which I do not belong.

For clarity, I have had extensive discussions with Hon. Brian Mundubile on several occasions over the need to work together as a united opposition. Let me put it on record that I have personally invited Hon Mundubile to contest the 2026 presidential elections on my party ticket, the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP). How can anyone in their right mind accuse me of working against a person who I have personally offered to use my party to contest the 2026 elections? Me and Hon. Mundubile have known each other for over 20 years.

As President of a political party, my focus is on building a serious national alternative—not engaging in petty schemes or distractions. I will not allow my name or my party to be dragged into baseless propaganda.
Ms. Lillian Mutambo has repeatedly made false accusations against me over time, which I have chosen to ignore. However, let it be clear: no one is above accountability. I have therefore proceeded to institute legal action against Ms. Lillian Mutambo.
I urge the public to treat these claims with the contempt they deserve.
Antonio Mourinho Mwanza
Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) President
