The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) will announce the 70 new constituencies on Thursday April 16, 2026.
This is contained in a statement made available to the media by ECZ Corporate Affairs Manager Patricia Luhanga.
Ms. Luhanga says the announcement will be made at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre at 09:30, with political parties, civil society organisations, faith based organisations and other stakeholders expected to be in attendance.

The commission was earlier expected to announce the names of the new constituencies on Wednesday April 15, and no reason has been stated for the change of dates.
The constituencies boundary changes came after The Mushabati Technical Committee on Constitutional Amendments concluded its nationwide consultations last year.
The committee then handed over its report towards the end of the year, founding that the majority of citizens supported the delimitation of constituencies to improve service delivery and ensure equitable resource distribution.
The Committee had recommended that going by the submissions received, each of the ten provinces of the country should have atleast seven more constituencies, bringing the total number of suggested new constituencies to 70.
