Signing Ceremony for Two New Projects under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects
On Tuesday, 10th March 2026, Ambassador MIKAMI Akiteru signed grant contracts with two Japanese NGOs, the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association (JATA) and the Japanese Organization for International Cooperation in Family Planning (JOICFP), under Japan’s Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects. The total grant amount is approximately USD 950,000.

Under these projects, JATA will work to improve tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment processes in Chilanga District, Lusaka Province, while JOICFP will promote comprehensive sexuality education and measures against gender-based violence (GBV) in Copperbelt Province.

Through these initiatives, Japan will contribute to strengthening Zambia’s health system, addressing infectious diseases such as tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS, promoting gender equality, and empowering young people and women.
