Congratulations to the Opposition
I wish to congratulate the FDD/PF Tonse Alliance and all serious opposition political parties that stood together, supported, and campaigned for the FDD in the Chawama Constituency.
This victory is not just a win for one party, but a strong political message and a wake up call for the UPND.
It clearly shows that the opposition must remain focused, united, and determined. The moment has come. The real opposition today is the Zambian people, and through the ballot they have spoken clearly they want new leadership, and that leadership is not UPND. The Zambian people have also stated that their preference are those working together.
The outcome of the Chawama by election has made it clear that even if 50 political parties contest the general elections, Zambians have already made their decision ahead of August. Their choice is clear, it is to reject the UPND.
Congratulations to the opposition for this important and symbolic victory in Chawama. The momentum must continue.
