Dr. Robert Kamalata is a highly accomplished public. servant, educator and leader with an impressive track record of public service, evidenced by his drive for progress and empowerment of Zambian communities.
Born and raised in the Mwinilunga district, Dr. Kamalata’s passion for community development, public service, and national development stems from his upbringing.
Early life and education
Dr. Kamalata’s educational journey began in Mwinilunga, where he attended Kamapanda and Kalene Mission School for primary education. He completed his secondary education at Solwezi Boys Technical Secondary School and Mwinilunga, where his father, Thomason Kamalata, was Headmaster.

As a card carrying paid-up member of the United Party for National Development (UPND) Dr. Kamalata is equally a die-hard associate to Zambia’s 7th Republican President, Dr. Hakainde Sammy Hichilema.
Dr. Kamalata is confident that once adopted to compete for Mwinilunga Central/West on the UPND ticket on Thursday 13th August 2026, victory is certain for him as a parliamentarian and the already re-elected for a deserved second term Dr. Hichilema.
