UCZ Lusaka Presbytery Bridging the Gap Investment Indaba

The United Church of Zambia (UCZ), Lusaka presbytery conducted an Investment Indaba at St Andrews congregation on Saturday, December 27, 2025 under the theme: “Bridging the Gap through Mobilizing Resources to Unlock the full Missional Potential of the Lusaka presbytery.”

In his remarks, UCZ Lusaka Presbytery Bishop Reverend Dr. Lordwell Siame said that the presbytery could only bridge the gap if Church workers work hand-in-hand with the laity in embracing entrepreneurial principles as a catalyst for missions, and making positive impact on communities.

As the presentations were made of the benchmarking tour of Lutheran Evangelical Church in Tanzania by the Church Workers, The participants present raised concerns on how Resource mobilization affect the congregations.

They also suggested best ways that could help the presbytery became financially stable with streams of income to reduce reliance on donation and offerings.

The members stressed the need to reduce on weaknesses that kills progressive ideas while running businesses that serve the community.

Meanwhile, Dr. Siame disclosed plans of some members of the presbytery to undertake a familiarization to Tanzanian to further leverage knowledge of how the UCZ can undertake business opportunities alongside Church Mission.

The bishop stated how business opportunities in Tanzania help to improve the financial stability of Church members. He demonstrated how the Resource mobilization can shift if the presbytery was to emulate how the Presbyterian of Tanzania.

In his closing remark, Bishop Siame called on members of the Church to come on board as the UCZ intends to leverage business opportunities to fuel its missions as the presbytery intends to come up with a ‘Special Purposes Vehicle (SPV) to manage various business opportunities.
