6 Chiefs in Chama District reject Chama South PF MP Davison Mung’andu
By Staff Writer
Now a total of six chiefs in Chama District have disowned Patriotic Front (PF) Chama South Member
of Parliament (MP) Davison Mung’andu for disrespecting traditional authority.
Leading the ‘Vote of No Confidence’ is Chief Chikwa with a lament that his previous arrest by law enforcement agencies was orchestrated by the embattled Mung’andu, whose third term aspirations on Thursday 13th August 2026 continue to diminish despite endorsing Dr. Hakainde Sammy Hichilema.
Both Mung’andu and Dr. Hichilema’s United Party for National Development (UPND) face a herculean task ahead of the competitive poll on account of a disconnect with the Zambian electorate.
Chama District is made up of two constituencies, namely Chama North (Yotam Mtayachalo of the PF) and Chama South (Davison Mung’andu).
It has six chiefs headed by Senior Chief Kambombo, Chief Chibale, Chief Chifunda, Chief Chikwa, Chief Tembwe, Chief Lundu and Chief Mulilo all of the Senga People.
Chiefs in Chama South castigated Mung`andu for his long absence in the area.
Chama District with the headquarters at Chama is the largest district of the Eastern Province in Zambia and includes a large wilderness in the Upper Luangwa valley just north-east of the North Luangwa National Park.
