Morning Devotion
This week’s devotion was a blessing as we were privileged to be ministered to by Fr Chris Koloko under the theme “The Quest for Mercy.”
Drawing lessons from Psalm 51:10–13, he reflected on the life of David how despite his sin, David understood and trusted in the mercy of God.
One key reminder was that sin robs us of our joy, and true restoration begins not by shifting blame, but by taking responsibility.
David did not excuse or sugarcoat his sinful actions. He owned them fully and sought God’s mercy with a repentant heart.
In contrast, our present time often decorates sin. What is abnormal is now celebrated as normal, and what is truly normal is treated as abnormal.
Sinful behaviors are rebranded,gossip becomes “information sharing,” pride is called “power,” and inappropriate social media content is dismissed as “just having fun.”
As believers, we are reminded to resist this deception and to call things by their rightful names, no matter how uncomfortable the truth may be.
May God help us to continually seek His mercy and walk in truth.
