United Prosperous and Peaceful Zambia (UPPZ) leader Charles Chanda has questioned the removal of checkpoints across the country without proper explanation.
At a time when the Zambia Army is moving to curb illegal migration in places like the Northwestern province, Mr. Chanda wonders why another wing of government is removing checkpoints.
“Why are checkpoints being removed without an explanation? This is about public safety and border control. People deserve a clear reason,” said Chanda.
Chanda adds that any change to security measures should come with a plan.
“We need to see how security will be kept safe if checkpoints are taken away. Transparency is crucial. The public deserves a clear explanation and a sensible plan for ongoing safety,” advised Chanda.
Chanda emphasises that government actions on security affect everyday lives.
“As a citizen and a leader, I want open and accountable government. If changes are made, they must be explained to the people and followed by tangible steps to keep communities safe,” noted Chanda.
