Sally Alufeyo proudly displays her Certificate in Introduction to Child and Adolescent Mental Health after completing a four-week intensive training programme by Repssi Zambia .
Sally had earlier paused her plans of opening a daycare centre so she could first gain the knowledge and skills needed to better support children and young people.
Through the training, she learned about the fundamentals of Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Early Childhood Development, assessment methods for children and young people and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Sally said the training has increased her confidence and prepared her to provide better care and support for children through her future daycare initiative.
“I now understand the importance of supporting children’s mental health and development from an early stage,” said Sally.
She added that the knowledge gained will help her create a safe and supportive environment for children in her community.
