Brazilian Blendpaper Security eyes Zambian market

Blendpaper Security, one of Brazil and South America’s top manufacturers of security papers has expressed interest to extend its investments to Zambia

Speaking to the Embassy of the Republic of Zambia officials on the sidelines of the 2022 Brazil Africa Forum, which is organised by the Brazil Africa Institute in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Blend Paper Security head of Industry and Production Alexandre Gilberti said his company was impressed with Zambia’s recent economic strides.

“As Blendpaper Security we have confidence in the Zambian market and we are sure that we can contribute much to the paper industry of Zambia because of lour experience in the paper business,”
Mr. Gilberti said. “We have been operating the Salto Paper Mill in Brazil since 1888 and it has become a development landmark in this country and a precursor in all of Latin America and I am confident that we can be the same in Zambia and Southern Africa.”

Mr. Gilberti also hailed the Zambian Embassy in Brazil for its willingness to provide the necessary support to Blend Paper Security in its bid to establish investment in Zambia.

He added that the manufacturer of special paper had capacity to create hundreds of jobs for the Zambian market.

Mr. Muvwema told the paper firm that Zambia provided a gateway to the Southern Africa market due to its central location.

“Zambia continues to be a haven of peace in Africa, be assured that your investment will be safe with us and through us you will have access to over eight SADC countries.” said Mr Muvwema.

Currently, Blendpaper is responsible for printing various special papers with security features for the State. It also prints papers for passport making and paper for printing bank note paper for the Casa da Moeda do Brasil, which mints the coins and prints money for Brazil.

The company also recycles bank note paper into other products like books, table tops, inflatable tables and chairs filled with shredded bank notes.

Furthermore, Blendpaper Security is also an expert in recycling clothes into a number of products.

The Zambian Embassy is attending the 2022 Brazil Africa Forum, the first post-Covid-19 edition which is focusing on Infrastructure, Urban Mobility, Renewable Energy, Waste Management and Urban Agriculture.

Other topics of discussion at the Forum are Public-Private Partnerships, Sports, Creative industry, Health and Sanitation.
