JUSTINA MUTALE ENTERS AFRICAN LEADERS HALL OF FAME, WINS LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Seattle, Washington, USA — On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the Seattle Airport Marriott was the stage for an unforgettable celebration of African excellence during the 2024 African Achievement Awards.
Among the highlights of this prestigious event was the presentation of the Lifetime Achievement Award to Her Excellency Dr. Justina Mutale, a globally recognized leader whose work continues to inspire generations.
A recipient of numerous awards from across the globe, Dr. Mutale, who has been lauded as one of the most influential African women in the world was recently inducted to the African Leaders Hall of Fame by the New Africa Magazine at a ceremony held at Ciela Resort in Lusaka on 15 November 2024.
On 25th October 2024, her organization, the Justina Mutale Foundation emerged as Africa Impact Organisation of the Year during the Africa Advancement Forum held in London, United Kingdom.
She has been honored with this Lifetime Achievement Award and several others in recognition of her exceptional contributions to leadership, international development, and advocacy for human rights and gender equality.
Known for her visionary approach, Dr. Mutale’s career spans over 30 years, during which she has played a pivotal role in empowering communities and promoting diversity and inclusion on a global scale.
Dr. Mutale is the Founder & President of the Justina Mutale Foundation. She also serves as President of the United Kingdom’s National Alliance of Women’s Organizations, among other portfolios in different parts of the world.
She is an official Delegate and Speaker at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women; the Commonwealth Women’s Forum; the African Union Gender Summit,; and several other global platforms that address issues on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

In 2012, Dr. Mutale was named African Woman of the Year, standing alongside African Heads of State and global dignitaries.
Her literary contributions, including the #1 international bestseller The Art of Iconic Leadership: Power Secrets of Female World Leaders and the co-authored book Women on Corporate Boards: An International Perspective, have cemented her reputation as an intellectual force. She has also contributed to FORBES Magazine and other esteemed publications.
Introduced with eloquence by Dr. Sylvia Litana Ezozo, Dr. Mutale delivered an inspiring speech that resonated deeply with the audience. She emphasized the power of unity, resilience, and leadership in driving progress for the African diaspora and the world at large.

This year’s African Achievement Awards marked a triumphant return to an in-person format after several virtual editions, attracting approximately 450 guests from across the globe.
Produced by Dr. Davies Chirwa, CEO of Channel A TV and founder of the awards, the event celebrated a diverse array of accomplishments in Community Service, Education, Entertainment, Fashion, Sports, and more.
The evening radiated elegance, as attendees arrived in formal black-tie attire and traditional African wear, setting a glamorous tone for the night.
Guests were welcomed by a breathtaking display of African unity, with models carrying flags representing all nations of the continent.
The awards drew notable dignitaries, including His Majesty Chief Tahiru from Ghana, alongside Washington State officials such as Commissioner of Public Lands Dave Upthegrove, SeaTac Mayor Mohamed Egal, Senator Tina Orwall, and State Representative Mia Gregerson.
Attendees hailed from countries as far-reaching as Kenya, Malawi, Tanzania, Ghana, Zambia, Rwanda, Congo, Canada, and the United Kingdom, underscoring the event’s international significance.
This year’s theme emphasized tourism and economic empowerment, aligning with Washington State’s preparations for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and FIFA World Cup 2026.
The awards provided an opportunity to celebrate the African diaspora’s role in driving cultural, social, and economic progress locally and globally.
